I can get my paper towels elsewhere.
Do your cats (or dogs or other pets) claim ownership of places around your home or yard? A shelf? A couch? A particular corner of the living room? Do you acknowledge it? (That’s “Dawn’s shelf.”) Or encourage it? (Putting a blanket on the couch where the dog usually sleeps.)

Well, I laid down a blanket on the back of the couch and thats Mikko’s favorite place to nap, and if I try to move it and he sees….Then he will growl…LOL! And he claims everything thats on the floor, and when I try to pick up a straw that he wasn’t playing with, then he will charge and me and climb up my leg. It doesn’t always hurt, but it hurts sometimes. So I just leave it.

Toby owns the guest room bed. We finally gave up and put a sleeping bag over the bedspread.
You’re not alone. My cats–and dogs–own areas all over my house. Most of us animal lovers don’t mind giving up a little real estate here and there. 🙂
So, Dawn, you don’t shred those paper towels?! Amelia would not allow those lazy paper towels to just hang there like that! Any paper rolls without teeth and claw marks is unacceptable!

Cute picture! Petal sort of has a claim on the corner of one of the couches. She knows that all she has to so is look at me and I’ll scoot over for her, I’d rather snuggle with her than sit in the corner. 😉
My Jasper is the same way. There’s Jasper’s spot on the couch. When we sit down to watch TV, he gives me that look. And I move over so he can climb up.

I thought the shelf on top of the paper towel rack would be a great place to store soap and laundry supplies. My cats thought otherwise. 😀
