This time of year, the early afternoon sun streams through my windows, painting stripes on my stairs. The cats know this, and one of them will lay claim (literally) to the spot, demanding that humans step over the cat and declaring that no canine or feline shall pass.
It’s no wonder. In this picture, Calvin is immersed in the sun’s rays, soaking in the warm down to his very whiskers.
Ah, the life of a cat.
Do you ever wish you could join your pets and curl up next to them in their sun puddles? I’ll admit; sometimes I just do it–if only for a moment.

I do it as well, I’ve actually found it quite comfortable a few times and now I no longer wonder why my dog loves her window spot. Something about the suns rays beaming down feels so darn good.

Bailie, cat bro Bert and I love the sun puddles in Mom’s office and we often argue over the best spots. Sometimes, Mom will lie down and take a nap in them with us, right there on the floor.

It is pretty tempting but I haven’t done it yet.
So far Rhette has claimed my sunny spot in the afternoons on the back porch. The weathers gotten so warm we are opening windows and Rhette loves those too. I think I want to be a cat! Love Dolly (& Rhette)
