Photo: Portrait of a Cat: Calvin
Tweet
Most days I take dozens of photos. Most are worthless. Some are good. And every once in a while, I snap a picture and know instantly that it’s a keeper.
I love this portrait of Calvin. Not every cat will look directly at a person, but Calvin will stare at me with such intensity that I almost feel I have to turn away. Almost. Instead, I’ll look deep into his eyes, hold his gaze for a moment, and then blink slowly and turn away.
I know in cat language that staring too long can be rude, disrespectful or downright threatening.
But now that I caught his gaze in a photo, I can look as long as I want at this portrait of a my cat, Calvin. This will be one I print out and frame.
Do you take a lot of pictures of your pets? How do you know when you have a really good one? What do you do with the ones you like best? Post them on social media? Frame them and put them around your home?

Thank you! So glad you stopped by to visit. 😀
That is a keeper. I take a ton of pictures and can usually tell a good one, but sometimes when looking through them I find an angle or section that I didn’t notice that turns out just great.
Exactly. Sometimes you know right when you snap the picture. And other times, you see something on the screen that you didn’t notice at first…and there’s the shot.
It is a beautiful picture. I have the same issue with pictures, I take 100s to get one I love!
Umm… You put this under Dog Photos. Great pic, by the way.
