Photos: Dogs in the wind

Black and White Sunday

It was a tad windy yesterday. Just ask Tucker.

With apologies to Kansas and their song Dust in the Wind:

I close my eyes only for a moment, and the moment’s gone

Laughing squirrels run before my eyes and climb up a tree

It's a little windy.

Dogs in the wind, all we are, are dogs in the wind

It's getting a little breezy

Same old song, out of reach above, those creatures keep on taunting me

All we dogs are stuck upon the ground, yet through the leaves we see

Gotta close my eyes

Dogs in the wind, all we are is dogs in the wind

Getting really windy now

If you don’t hang on, I’ll be here to watch you fall down from the sky

Run away, but I’ll chase your jeering body unless you learn to fly

Blown away

Dogs in the wind, all we are are dogs in the wind

Dogs in the wind, everything is dogs in the wind

…and now you have today’s earworm.

Not only does the wind rustle through hair and fur, it also brings distant scents to explore or dancing leaves to watch or pounce. Do your pets like windy days?

Windy days don’t affect them too much and with the Santa Ana’s we get pretty windy sometimes. Our blind dog Tino hated them though – guess all the noise and rustling spooked him when he couldn’t see what it was.

  2. LOL…I love that! Thanks for the earworm, that was one of my favorite songs back in the day.

  3. It is often windy here but Donna’s short hair won’t see your the wind as well as Tucker’s! 🙂

I love windy days and you look fantastic in those photos!

  5. loved this (and I love the original song by Kansas). Dakota doesn’t care for windy days but I LOVE looking at him in the wind. Shetland Sheepdogs have fur that just looks soooo glamorous when it blows in the wind!

Wow! Tucker is really enjoying that wind. That is the same squinty/closed eyed sniffing Wilhelm does in the wind. It is so cute! Especially because Wilhelm’s ears blow so much- we affectionately called him “Dumbo” when he was a puppy.

  7. Mr. N doesn’t mind them at all. Onyxx objects like he does to all weather extremes.

  8. Love your adaption of the song and the pictures! Love Dolly

  9. With short hair we don’t blow as much. We love your windy song.

  10. MOL! You’re looking a little windblown, Tucker.

Hee, hee….ear flaps up, ready for take off! That’s what Mum always says on our windy days!
