Photos: Dogs in the wind
TweetBlack and White Sunday
It was a tad windy yesterday. Just ask Tucker.
With apologies to Kansas and their song Dust in the Wind:
I close my eyes only for a moment, and the moment’s gone
Laughing squirrels run before my eyes and climb up a tree
Dogs in the wind, all we are, are dogs in the wind
Same old song, out of reach above, those creatures keep on taunting me
All we dogs are stuck upon the ground, yet through the leaves we see
Dogs in the wind, all we are is dogs in the wind
If you don’t hang on, I’ll be here to watch you fall down from the sky
Run away, but I’ll chase your jeering body unless you learn to fly
Dogs in the wind, all we are are dogs in the wind
Dogs in the wind, everything is dogs in the wind
…and now you have today’s earworm.
Not only does the wind rustle through hair and fur, it also brings distant scents to explore or dancing leaves to watch or pounce. Do your pets like windy days?

Windy days don’t affect them too much and with the Santa Ana’s we get pretty windy sometimes. Our blind dog Tino hated them though – guess all the noise and rustling spooked him when he couldn’t see what it was.
I could understand how that would be a little unnerving to a dog.
LOL…I love that! Thanks for the earworm, that was one of my favorite songs back in the day.
Thanks. It will be playing in my head all day too.
It is often windy here but Donna’s short hair won’t see your the wind as well as Tucker’s! 🙂
Sounds like my Jasper. The only thing that might move in the wind would be his ears. 😉
I love windy days and you look fantastic in those photos!
Gee thanks. By the end, Tucker’s beard has blown into nonexistence. 😉
loved this (and I love the original song by Kansas). Dakota doesn’t care for windy days but I LOVE looking at him in the wind. Shetland Sheepdogs have fur that just looks soooo glamorous when it blows in the wind!
Thanks! I agree. They look like they’re in a glam photo shoot, don’t they…wind blowing through their tresses. 😉
Wow! Tucker is really enjoying that wind. That is the same squinty/closed eyed sniffing Wilhelm does in the wind. It is so cute! Especially because Wilhelm’s ears blow so much- we affectionately called him “Dumbo” when he was a puppy.
That’s adorable! I think wind blowing through doggy fur (and sweeping doggy ears) is plain cute.
Mr. N doesn’t mind them at all. Onyxx objects like he does to all weather extremes.
Mr N is pretty easy going I guess. Onyxx is still getting used to things.
Love your adaption of the song and the pictures! Love Dolly
Thanks. I had that song going through my head all day. 😉
With short hair we don’t blow as much. We love your windy song.
Thanks! I also had Ride Like the Wind, Blowin’ in the Wind, and Wind Beneath My Wings as possibilities too, but I kept coming back to Dogs…er…Dust in the Wind.
MOL! You’re looking a little windblown, Tucker.
‘Tis true. It was quite the blustery day.
Hee, hee….ear flaps up, ready for take off! That’s what Mum always says on our windy days!
BOL. Exactly! So cute!!!
