Photo: You can come out now
TweetBlack and White Sunday
Maybe the UPS guy stopped by with a delivery, causing three dogs to deliver the appropriate amount of Very Loud Barkage.
Perhaps the Dreaded Vacuum Monster had left its dark closet cave and was terrorizing the inhabitants of the house.
Or one of the kittens thought it was time to play Chase the Cat, and Dawn was not in the mood for annoying games.
Whatever caused Dawn to hide under the china cabinet, she had been there long enough and was trying to determine whether the coast was clear.
Jasper, who can sometimes be incredibly obtuse when it comes to reading cat body language, could sense Dawn’s hesitation. My big dog with an even bigger heart leaned in. You can just about hear the soft whisper, “It’s okay. You can come out now.”

Awwww, what a cutie.
Thank you!
Jack and Maggie don’t interact too often, they are both kind of loners although Maggie would like to interact more I think. When we were at Big Bear and Maggie was a little stressed, Jack let her rest her head on his butt while we were lying on the deck. Usually he gets right up when she touches him (girl cooties you know) but this time he let her. It was sweet.
Sometimes I find my dogs behave similarly toward each other. Tucker would love to snuggle with the other two, but Jasper in particular doesn’t want Tucker in his space. If Tucker gets too close, Jasper will get up and walk away. Lilah doesn’t mind, though, and I often find Tucker using LIlah as a pillow to rest his head.
That is so adorably precious. Too few of us get along well enough to provide moments like that unless it is Mauricio and Astrid or Fiona and Giulietta. Mom wanted to tell you how much she admires your writing. We just returned from voting for you again today. Purrlease join us Monday for our 2nd anniversary giveaway. XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
Aw, thank you! And thanks for the votes; we really appreciate them. And we will definitely show up on Monday to wish you a happy anniversary!
That’s so sweet! We don’t get along with each other that well, and we’re all the same species!
I hear you. Our four cats like to be on their own. Every once in a while I see a glimmer of something that looks like friendship. Maybe in time…
Mr. N is the only pet and quite happy with that status. He loves Sage though. And the two of them will wrestle and play chase. On their first meeting, Sage got a vine stuck in her fur and Mr. N tried to pull it out.
That’s pawsome! Mr. N is a good friend to Sage. And I love seeing pictures of them playing together.
That is such a sweet photo! The kitties ears folded back just melted my heart!
Usually, Jasper doesn’t care that much for the cats. He ignores them for the most part…until he senses something is wrong, and then he’s there for them.
So sweet! At MyDogLikes we dogs and cats sometimes act indifferent to one another, that is until somebody needs some extra TLC!!
That’s exactly how it is at our home!
Great pic!
Thanks!
What a sweet picture!!! I love capturing sweet moments like this 🙂
Thank you. It’s why I always try to have my camera at hand. To capture–and preserve–these moments. (And maybe to prove they did happen!)
That’s a sweet picture. We run and hide when someone comes to the door. But we rarely go and check on each other to see if we’re okay.
Jasper likes to make sure everyone is okay. And Lilah doctors everyone, cleaning their ears, staying nearby when someone isn’t feeling well.
So cute. We get along pretty well with the cats, but cat bro Bert thinks he is a dog, so we treat him like one sometimes which makes him mad. No one gets harmed, just some rough housing fun.
I think cats that think they’re dogs are awesome. Sometimes Athena acts like a dog, greeting me at the door with the canines.
Great photo! Cats and dogs can be friends. Century, one of our cats, loved Damien. We would often find the two of them napping together on Damien’s dog bed.
My cats don’t like the dogs that much. But everyone gets along for the most part.
Awwwwe…that is so sweet!
This is so sweet.
That’s so sweet! Two out of three kitties over here think maybe woofies themselves would cause us to hide, even though we know they probably mean us no harm. But Allie isn’t afraid! 🙂
Awe!! That is so sweet! <3
So sweet! Pierson tends to comfort Maya, but not the other way around.
