Window Watcher: My cat keeps her eyes on me
TweetWe were all outside yesterday, after the first significant snowfall of the season. My husband and son shoveled the deck, and I kept the dogs entertained so they didn’t offer to help.
“Help,” by the way, means different things to dogs — and cats — than it does to humans. The dogs — Jasper, Lilah, and Tucker — are happy to assist in snow redistribution. Surely we would like that pile of snow more evenly dispersed; they’ll diligently dig at it until there is more of the white stuff on those embarrassingly clear paths and sidewalks.
The cats are a little less likely to get their hands…er, paws…dirty. Or wet. They serve in supervisory roles, keeping tabs on our activities to ensure we are adhering to the correct process guidelines.
Like Dawn in the photo above, who was watching me from the warmth and comfort of the family room. Based on her expression, I think I may have broken a rule or displeased her in some way.
I have feeling it might have something to do with the absence of comfortable laps in the house.
How do your pets help with seasonal activities?

She’s deffo not happy with something you’ve done – that’s a “wait ’til you get back in here’ look if ever I saw one 😉 Fab picture!
Lovely photo and yes that look on her face says where’s the laps? Purrs, Rhette
Looks very familiar to me!
Our dogs love to redistribute the leaves when it is raking season. And the cats of course enjoy supervising all activities from the window!
That is some great supervising!
The double paned did great a great photo effect. Sending you warmth from sunny everyday SoCal 🙂 Golden Woofs
Double-paned and double duty fun. Our boys love the snow! Good luck with the noms.
She certainly is displeased about something…
Cute photo 🙂 Our Phoebe watched us make a snowman.
Beautiful photo. I think she hates having been left inside and seems to want to join you. I could be wrong though as I know how much cats hate the cold 🙂
I think she is hypnotizing you…at our place it always works 😀 Pawkisses for a Happy Sunday 🙂 <3
BOL! Our kitty is nosey like that, too! Happy b&w Sunday!
Awwwe…she looks like she’s a little unhappy! Have a great Sunday!
She’s probably appalled you are outside in all the white stuff!
That is a great expression on her face.
I’m not really into the helpin’ when it comes to shovellin’, myself. I prefer to take more of a supervisory roll. Peeps need my advice, you see. Yup, they need it a lot.
Purrs,
Nissy
Beautiful photo! Dawn has such a plush, lovely coat 🙂
the critters in the cottage xo
It’s nice to know that someone is looking out for you.
Great job by Dawn. It’s obvious she’s “snoppervising!” 🙂
Yuppers, that is not a pleased kitteh! Did you remember to leave some kitteh treats for payment???
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
Haha well she surely does have her eyes wide open!
My kittie bros used to love going out into the show. What a cool photo!
We don’t see too much of Dawn on the blog, so it was a delight to see her today. She might looked a little miffed, but she is quite gorgeous in B&W with lovely markings. Thanks so much for joining and supporting our blog hop. We are having a giveaway now for a Lilly Brush Be Forever Furless. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
Dawn likes to hide up in my son’s room. There’s a great photo of her in the sun that I posted a few weeks ago, that really shows her beauty. I called the photo Liquid Cat.
There’s not a lot of seasonal activities we do but Mr. N is always supervising!
Love this picture of her…Dawn is a great snoopervisor!
She sure has an interesting expression 😉
😀 I think she’s just wondering why I can’t shut the winter off.
Rooney keeps his eyes on me and the outside as well.
