This is How My Daughter and Her Fiancé Announced Their Engagement

Best. Engagement. Announcement. Ever.

This past weekend, my daughter Corinne and her long-time boyfriend Luke got engaged.

He didn’t pop the question. There was no “She said, ‘Yes!'” There was no ring. No romantical setting.

And that’s just the way they wanted it. Instead, these two thoughtful, intelligent, very creative and socially conscious people created an engagement announcement infographic.

Yes, you read that right. My daughter and soon-to-be son-in-law announced their intention to marry through an infographic.

An infographic that sums up the years they spent together in a warm, humorous and totally “them” way.

An infographic they showed my husband and I, watching us while we read it, enjoying the moments when each of us realized what it meant.

An infographic that was a true collaboration, and a work of love.

Corinne and Luke believe that a decision as important as who you will spend your life with should be considered and discussed. They believe that diamonds are a socially and environmentally ill-considered construct. They believe in partnership and equality.

And I believe they are perfect for each other, and wish them love, health, joy — and continued collaboration.

To learn more about the thinking behind their engagement, or to see the entire infographic, read my daughter’s post on her blog Corinne for the Win.

Susan…I think this is totally cool; from the concept, to the design, to the “why”….all the best to Corinne & Luke; I hope the wedding invitation is as unique as this…it ROCKS !! ♥

PS…..maybe for a wedding gift, they might want to think of asking for a toaster “oven”

…looks like the stand alone has not been very …successful !!!
