Haiku by Dog: Stick
TweetToday’s haiku is by Tucker.
You can chew on it.
Run with it.
Play fetch with it.
It’s perfect for a game of tug.
Or keepaway.
If it breaks, you can always find another one.
Sticks.
Quite possibly the best toy ever.
Do your pets like sticks? Even my cats do, on a smaller scale.

It’s funny that none of the dogs I’ve had have ever been interested in sticks, even when we tried throwing one for them. They’ve all just stood there and looked up at us like “Really? I only chase balls.” That’s a really cute pic of Tucker!
At first Tucker thought sticks were not as much fun as balls. But in the winter, if you throw a ball when the ground is covered with soft snow, it sinks. Sticks stay on top. That’s why he learned to like sticks. Good all year and best in winter. But balls are his favorite.
Great haiku. 🙂
Our cats, and many at the shelter, love playing with ball point pens. Go figure!
Here too. Pens. Pencils. Rulers. Athena thinks emery boards / nail files are the coolest thing ever. Cats are weird. And that’s why we love them.
We love your haiku ! Sticks always look like a lot of fun for dogs. Purrs
Aw, thanks. All of my dogs like sticks, but the other two mostly like to run around with them and chew on them. Tucker likes to fetch.
The best toys are those that aren’t really supposed to be toys. I like playing with the stick part of wand toys. ~Ernie
My cats agree. Calvin loves the stick part especially.
What a great haiku! We’ve never played with a stick.
My cats love sticks, and sometimes play with the pole end of a fishing toy. Best is the Stick Under the Blanket Game. That’s always worth a pounce or two (or tweleve.)
I play with sticks and then I eat them 😀 Pawkisses 🙂 <3
That’s part of the fun of sticks. My dogs usually spit out the bits after they crunch on sticks. Usually. 😉
