Haiku by Dog: Satisfaction
TweetToday’s haiku is by Tucker.
The ball flies skyward in a graceful arc. All eyes follow its path, yet one pair is more keenly focused. As fast as the most sophisticated computer processors, calculations are made, minor adjustments performed, muscles coiled in preparation for that one leap.
The moment is perfect. He springs, defying gravity, sailing, reaching — and then plucks the ball out of the air with an elegant stretch.
A singular sound acknowledges the accomplishment, appreciated by ball-obsessed dogs like Tucker — and baseball fans.
This one’s for all the major-league baseball fans who showed up yesterday for Opening Day — and for everyone who enjoys playing and watching the game. You know what I’m talking about.
Anyone else enjoy that sound?

That is a sound not heard at our house since we have no interest in catching balls. Bailie plays a bit of catch with stuffies in the house, but that is it.
Bentley will catch a ball sometimes, but Pierre NEVER misses. HE is like a cat in his movements. LOL!
Oops! I forgot to ask which pet is attending BlogPaws with you? We will add them to the Conference Cruising! Just let me know.
Haha I remember that sound from our last dog, who loved playing catch! Daisy’s not into catching balls, she’d rather wait for them to land somewhere and then run after them. She’s such a nut!
Nice catch! (And nice shot!)
We had a great opening day around here yesterday too! The Tigers won 🙂 It looks like Tucker should be an MLB player!
Nice job, Tucker! Sampson is the only kitty in our house that catches things mid-air. It’s pretty darn cool!
What a great haiku, catch and picture! Nice job all around, Tucker!
Your creativity never ceases to amaze me. Love this.
I love balls and I know that sound… it’s like the applause of an invisible audience :o)
Hi Y’all!
Oh YES!!! You go Tucker!
Y’all come on by,

Great haiku and photo! Rita is the world’s worst catcher. It’s pretty hysterical. Her whole body follows the ball, with her mouth open – and then she misses. She’s like the kid that always got picked last for teams at recess.
Mom says watching baseball is like watching paint dry. However, she’d be happy to throw a ball for the dogs and watch them catch it. Much more fun. Glad to see that your snow is finally gone. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
