Haiku by Dog: Fence

Haiku by Dog: thwarted by fence now / but one day I’ll get you, deer / dog dreams of escape

Today’s Haiku by Dog is by Jasper.

All three dogs feel the tyranny of the fence. Oh, the squirrels they could chase! The deer they could catch! The foxes they could outrun!

Alas! They are thwarted from their dogly pursuits.

But a dog can dream…

Do your pets ever dream of escape? Or actually act on it?

One day you will get those squirrels, Japser! Occasionally, I have been worried that one of my cats would jump off of my balcony to pursue something, but they have been very good kitties.

  3. Pierre would LOVE to be able to get over or under our fence to catch squirrels. They would both lose their minds seeing a deer or fox! They experienced their first rabbit in our yard this fall. It was a race to the fence, but the rabbit won!

    • My dogs get to bark at deer, squirrels, chipmunks, groundhogs, rabbits, skunks (!), coyote, fox, vultures and of course neighborhood dogs and cats. We live near a huge undeveloped park. We need the fence. 😀
