Haiku by Cat: Abide
TweetToday’s Haiku by Cat is by Athena.
If there’s a cat in it, it’s a cat bed. Even if it started out as a box. Or a keyboard. Or your fresh-from-the dryer laundry.
Or a dog bed, as Athena demonstrates in today’s Haiku by Cat.
Cats occupy. They own. Whatever they’re on is theirs.
Until it isn’t.
What unusual places does your cat (or other pet) occupy?

Tabbies, so true. Cats own everything.
As evidenced by our post yesterday and many others on our blog, our kitties adopted the antique, wooden, dough bowl as one of their beds well before any of the current kitties came to live with us. If we lose our heads and put something in it, they just sleep on top of whatever that is, usually papers I am trying to get off the counter. A super precious photo of Athena. Her green eyes are gorgeous. Hugs Janet and XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
Aw, thanks. Yep, that’s true about kitties. If a cat’s in it, it’s a cat bed. ‘Nuf said.
Thanks for the compliment about Athena. In the right light, her eyes are luminous and deep. As for the antique wooden dough bowl, such a major faux “paw” to put anything other than a cat in it. 😉
So true. A cat bed is wherever a cat feels comfortable. 🙂
Truth. And it could be anywhere. I’m still amused when one of my cats settles herself down on a piece of paper, like it’s the softest most wonderful place to lay down on.
Great haiku Athena! Shiner is probably glad that she does not have to surrender her bed to anyone else. Although she does prefer the couch better anyways.
I think sometimes dogs think the same way. The couch is nothing more than an elevated dog bed that people sometimes share. 😉
I sure wish those cat would stay out of my dog beds! They steal them and stink them up like a cat all the time!
Understood. But cats is cats and they do what they please. Including sleeping in your beds. 😉
Cats have a way of turning anything and everything into a bed, don’t they? Cute picture!
If there’s a cat in it, it’s a cat bed. 😀 I think that’s rule #47 in the Cat Rulebook.
It’s a cat’s bed until we say it’s not. And we’ll never say that.
Of course!
That makes perfect cat sense to me! Bentley always sits on our kitchen sink mat a.k.a. the treat mat! They sleep wherever their little hearts desire! ♥♥
That’s cats for you. 😉
