Haiku by Cat: Untasted
TweetToday’s haiku is by Dawn.
She can see it, she can hear it, but she Just. Can’t. Get. It. The invisible barrier blocks her from the joy of the pounce, the crunch of the feathers, the satisfaction of a hunt completed. Instead, she can only watch.
Poor cat. She’ll slink off to one of the 43 cat beds in our house, ignore the 726 cat toys spread across the carpets and floors and ponder the unfairness of it all straight through ’til her people serve her dinner, most likely served late.
What do your pets see out of your windows?

What is the purpose of windows? To torture and tempt us. Totally not fair. And Dawn – we agree – dinner is ALWAYS served late.
Dawn, you are pawsome at Haiku. We get to see those winged creatures but inches away when we are on the catio. Still they are out of reach. Life stinks sometimes, but dinner is never late at our house. It is too hard to ignore eight cats bouncing around the kitchen and whining. One good thing about there being so many of us. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
I often wonder whether my cat would prefer to be a feral cat or a pampered house pet.
This is so true! Our cats (especially Zoe) enjoy watching the squirrels, rabbits and birds outside the windows.
dawn, due knot eat burd
they taste like poo any way
even chickn burd
Darn window always gets in the way of our fun. We like to watch the birds, squirrels, rabbits and sometimes the vishus deers.
It sure is tough being a pampered indoor kitty Dawn!
Seriously. It’s a TRAVESTY that the bird is out of reach.
