Today’s haiku is by Athena, with help from Calvin.
My cats are not the snuggle-up-in-a-pile-of-loving-kitty-cuddlyness. They’re more the respect-my-space-or-I’ll-hiss-and-swat-faster-than-you-can-say-catnip kind of kitties.
The only time they tolerate togetherness is when I feed them. I think that’s because they are heads’-down into their food bowls and don’t really pay attention to the other cats, unless Someone tries to eat Someone Else’s food.
Every once in a while I catch my cats laying near one another. I believe there’s a rule somewhere in the Cat Codex that states that two cats may occupy a similar geographic location as it’s suitably warm and comfy–and there is enough space to successfully ignore one another.

My cat snuggled with her best friend, my German Shepherd Madison. I love this.
I wish mine would snuggle up to each other, but as long as the snuggle with me, I’m quite happy. 🙂
We get along pretty well, unless one cat is wearing a cone on his head. 😉

MOL! Your cats are funny. Mine all surprisingly get along pretty well. The only two that don’t cuddle together are Delilah and Caster. Well, Delilah doesn’t really cuddle with Sophie too much either. So I suppose everyone cuddles together, except Delilah who only cuddles with Sampson.
You’re lucky. I’d love to see a pile of cuddled-up kitties.
My pets aren’t getting along 🙁 and nothing I can do about that.
I sometimes find two cats cuddling who don’t normally get along. I think they actually have no idea who they are snuggled up against. They just know that they are warm. I actually caught Mauricio giving Lily Olivia a bath a few nights ago. They have never gotten along in the 10 years they have lived together. I think neither of them realized who was doing what.
