Haiku by Cat: Middle
TweetAthena is our kitchen manager. She plants herself right in the middle of the floor, so as we walk back and forth from counter to sink to stove to counter to oven, we have to step over her or around her.
One might think that she would consider it a dangerous place to hang out, what with all the backing and forthing, carrying hot things, heavy things, pointy things.
But no. She lies comfortable and confident. In the center of it all, as dinner prep revolves around her.
As it should be.
How do your pets help with dinner?

Truth. The fridge. And the cabinet where the treats are kept. 😀
In one lane there is the sink, the stove/microwave, and the fridge. The dogs are anywhere in that lane. lol
Athena made me giggle in the middle of the floor.
Yup. The best place is in the middle. I have to make sure I don’t step on her. And if she’s not there, somebody else is likely to be in the way. I guess that’s to be expected when you live with three dogs and four cats…
And equidistant from anything foodable that hits the floor…
Exactly. She knows what she’s doing.
Just be careful you don’t get stepped on, Athena!
She doesn’t care. That’s the point. She won’t move; she just assumes we will all walk around her. Tortitude at its best (or worst!)
