Haiku by Cat: Glass

Today’s Haiku is by Calvin.
Lounge-style cat scratchers are lined up in front of the sliding glass doors in our kitchen. At any given daylight moment, at least one is likely to be occupied.
While the bench in our family room is right in front of the Pet Entertainment Center (also known as a picture window) and permanently tuned to the Bird and Squirrel Channel, the cats also enjoy the view from the kitchen onto the deck.
Not much happens on the deck, but every once in a while, a chipmunk scurries across on her way to the bird feeders in the shade garden.
And sometimes, if a cat is very lucky, he can find himself eye-level with a squirrel.

The windows are famous here! Both the cats and the huskies enjoy watching the birds and squirrels run around. Most likely trying to plot a way to break the window and chase them! BOL!

They come right up to the window and tease us dogs and cats!
That’s what we say all the time. Those squirrels taunt us.
That taunt the cats and dogs alike.
So close… yet so far on the other side of that pesky glass!
So, so frustrating fur sure!

My cats are obsessed with looking out. They try to escape regularly as well.
At any one time, at least one or two of my cats are looking out the window and wishing they could pounce something.
We know the feeling, Calvin. We live with this EVERY. Day.
