Disclosures, Rules & Legal Stuff

Disclosure

  • LifeWithDogsAndCats.com is an online magazine fully owned and operataed by Quoia, LLC, that provides stories, humor, photography and information to its readers – for fun and entertainment, and to inform along the way. That said, what is written on this site is never meant to be a substitute for professional advice. If you have a sick pet or behavioral issue, find someone who knows what they’re talking about, like a veterinarian or certified animal trainer. Step away from the internet and call or make an appointment with someone who can help you and your pet.
  • The FTC (and no, it doesn’t stand for Fabulous & Terrific Cats, though maybe it should) requires that bloggers disclose any relationships between someone who endorses a product or service (that would be me) and the company who provides the product.
  • Because we are all law-abiding citizens and mostly because it’s the right thing to do – we think our readers should know if we are compensated for writing about something neat and shiny.
  • Quoia, LLC  accepts cash, sponsorships, commissions, giveaways, free products, bones and tuna – (actually, not those last two; the dogs and cats must have added that while I wasn’t looking) – to write reviews or to include content on our site.
  • Any and all reviews are the honest opinions of myself (and my pets). Whether we received something for free, or were paid to review a product, we will not guarantee a positive review.
  • We will always note in our reviews whether we received a free or sample product or purchased it, so our readers can decide for themselves if they think we may have been influenced by the bones or the tuna.
  • We will only write about a product or service if we have tried it ourselves and believe our review to be of value to our readers.
  • We use “nofollow” links in sponsored posts in accordance with Google policies. In our home, it’s a different story, as a no-follow rule would be impossible to implement, as my dogs and cats follow me from room to room.
  • LifeWithDogsAndCats.com and all content on this site is the property of Quoia, LLC and Susan C. Willett. Even though Lilah, Jasper, Tucker, Dawn, Athena, Calvin and Elsa Clair may disagree. When they start posting content directly, then we’ll talk.
  • Quoia, LLC does not claim that anything written or shown on the site is complete or 100% accurate. We do our best to check facts and to go to the original source of information, but we’re people (and dogs and cats) and we make mistakes (though the cats will never admit it.) If you want to know more, for Dog’s sake, do your own research.
  • And of course,Quoia, LLC will not be held liable for any damages from the use of this site, or its links or content. If you don’t understand our haiku, we simply cannot be held responsible.

General Sweepstakes Rules

  • From time to time LifeWithDogsAndCats.com holds sweepstakes, offering readers an opportunity to win various pet-related products or services. Any sweepstakes on our site will provide the approximate retail value of these items.
  • There is no purchase necessary to enter or win. We encourage – but do not require– our readers to tell their friends, family, dogs, cats, birds, bunnies, iguanas, capybaras – and any other pets – about our sweepstakes.
  • Sweepstakes are void where prohibited by law; we don’t want anyone breaking any laws for a chance to win cool cat and dog products.
  • Sweepstakes are open to all human residents of the U.S. and the District of Columbia who are eighteen years or older. Relatives, employees, dogs, and cats of Life with Dogs and Cats are not eligible to participate.
  • Winners will be selected randomly using Rafflecopter’s random winner selector thingy. I don’t know exactly how it works, but it’s certainly random.
  • Winners will be announced on the blog, on the page where the sweepstakes entry form resides. We all like to know who won.
  • The prize will be shipped to the winner from New Jersey or directly from the prize provider, sponsor or manufacterer. Winners will need to provide a snail mail address; no P.O. boxes, please.
  • No substitution or transfer of prizes is permitted; if you win, you get what you get and you don’t get upset.
  • Taxes are the responsibility of the human winner.
  • Odds of winning any prize will be determined by the number of eligible entries received. Odds are, it will be someone who lives with a dog or a cat–  or at least is friends with one  – or more.
  • Prize winners will be notified via email within approximately one week after the date of the drawing. If a potential winner declines to accept the prize, forfeits it, has violated any of the contest rules, does not respond to award notification by the date listed on the notification, or is found to be ineligible, the winner will be disqualified. That would be very sad indeed. So make sure you provide the correct email.
  • Winners release Quoia, LLC and any sponsors, employees, affiliates, agents, representatives, dogs, cats, dragons and unicorns from all liability and responsibility of any kind that is related in any way to the prize.
  • Winners consent to the use of their names and likenesses (and those of their pets) for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. Human prize winners may be required to sign a Liability/Publicity Release. Unless your dogs or cats have thumbs, we don’t require them to sign releases; it is your responsibility to attain the appropriate permissions from your pets.
