Athena is our sous chef, overseeing all activities in the kitchen, and offering comments and helpful suggestions, such as “I’ll taste that for you,” and “That soup is missing a key ingredient: cat hair.”
Every once in a while, we’ll be cooking something especially attractive to our little cat gourmand. The scent of deliciousness pours off the counter and tickles a tuned-in nose. She’s drawn to the counter, pulled by the aroma like fish hooked on a line.
We keep a squirt bottle on the counter for just such occasions. The indignity!
