Text from Dog: Wrong way!

It always amazes me that my dogs seem to know where we are going when we’re in the car. Maybe not a first, but I can feel them get excited when we’re nearing the dog park, or hear them start pacing nervously when we approach the vet’s office. And when we’re coming back home after one adventure or another, the heads pop up and little moans and cries of joy begin.
Do your pets know where you are going?

My guys seem to have an internal GPS to know when the car is headed to the groomers or vet and when we are going to a park.
They definitely know where we’re going! I can tell by how they get excited about a familiar place or curious about a new one.
Oh definitely! Shiner always began to get concerned when we pulled up to my work. She didn’t really like it there.
In Germany, Mom used to drive from the south where they lived to the North Sea coast where they had a house. Katie would sleep the entire drive except for potty stops, but right about a mile from their house, every time she would get up and get excited. Mom thinks it was the sea air, but we will never know for sure.
Hailey use to totally know where we were going and would yell with excitement if it was a preferred place (which is usually was). Because of all of Phod’s car issues, we haven’t taken him enough places, but we are hopeful after such a successful trip last time, it will go better next time (which is tomorrow).
The pet store is a fun place to go…or at least that’s what we hear. We never get to go. 🙁
They are truly amazing creatures. I guess they can smell when you near one place or another. I remember that our dogs were like that as well. Hugs, janet
My Maya is excited no matter where we go, even if we go to the vet!
