at stairway’s summit
furry dragon awaits prey
ankles are not safe
unless it’s about
food, dinnertime, snacks or treats
cat’s not listening
if I lay on it
it is mine, no matter
how much you need it
soaking up sun’s rays
absorbing its energy, cats
are solar powered
sun’s rays stream down stairs
creating still pools of warmth
step over the cat
it’s time to play my
favorite game: guess why the cat
is irritated
sinuous river
of poured feline contentment
will not move for you
time to wake up? wrong
I just got started on my
third nap of the day
it fits perfectly
because every box is the
right size for a cat
refuge sought within
wooden bars, a cat’s safe place
underneath the chair
