a chipmunk. So far.
cat at rest reveals
sumptuous feline splendor
even on cardboard
Rub my belly. No.
Changed my mind. Scratch my chin. No.
Now rub my belly.

bookcase: place to store books
and display your cat
successful cats have
stretch goals to reach the things
they’re not supposed to have
hidden by shadows
tucked behind leaves and pink blooms
jungle cat sees all
sun shines on this spot
pouring warmth in this place, now
because I am here
when a cat abides
within the pillowed borders
it’s not a dog bed
when my back is turned
you become nonexistent
but I can hear you
tiny bit on floor
you are mine to touch, know, own
until I am bored
