Haiku by Cat
artwork painted with
sun and shade; all should stop and
admire cat’s shadow
Only one cat here;
as long as my back is turned
I do not see him
out of reach, alas
winged prey alights, sings, soars and
escapes untasted
mysterious cat
hidden within the shadows
conjures more mischief
a box is defined
not by walls and floor, but by
the treasure it holds
window hunter waits
trap baited with false sunlight
for moth to alight
talons honed and sharp
leave window’s surface unscathed
clearly indifferent
from balcony seats
entrancing performance for
two cats: dancing wren
contentment found in
cardboard walls, lid optional
size doesn’t matter
if not for this glass–
cruel impassable window–
squirrel, you would be mine
Stop, sniff and follow
Put your nose to the ground and follow us on...
