sadness folded neat
tucked away in a suitcase
you’re leaving, aren’t you?
taking a moment
to imagine potential
sweetens the journey
the breath of desire
fogs the window: testament
to a squirrel unchased
garden oasis
filled with refreshment for birds
and hot, thirsty dogs
past the sweet scent of
blossoms, underneath leaves, lies a
tale of chipmunk lost
I really don’t know
how the door got scratched like that.
