Photo: Dinner is late

Wordless Wednesday

Dinner is late, and the dog and cat want me to know about it.

Where’s dinner?

Tucker and Athena don’t agree on many things, but there is one topic that is important to both of them: dinner. And it’s late because Mom is still outside watering plants or some such nonsense. Can’t she tell there are more pressing issues? Can’t she see we’re starvin’ in here?

How do your pets tell you it’s dinner time?

About 30 minutes before they both wake up and start pacing…intensity of the pacing increases as the zero hours gets closer. The real notification comes when they come sit next to me and start nudging my typing arm.

  2. Dawn says:

My dogs Maya and Pierson do the same pacing that SlimDoggy mentioned. They also come sit next to me, but instead of nudging my arm they just stare at me intensely and lick their lips once in a while. It can be annoying but it is a great reminder. I can be forgetful at times, but I’ve never been allowed to forget to feed my dogs!

    That’s not right.

My sisters, cats, and I agree, meals need to be on time! Cute photo.

Waterin’ the plants??!! Like THAT’S important!!! Geesh. Sometimes the peeps really have to gets their priorities straight!
I lets Ma know it time to eat by barkin’. I find this is the most effective means of communication. She be dense. It’s my burden.

Hope she didn’t make you wait too long!

  7. Taryn says:

My guys are pretty patient about being fed. Although one time, I am ashamed to admit, I totally forgot to feed them dinner. Around 9pm I found Wilson standing right by the pantry door, looking at me, sniffing the door crack, looking at me again….It took a few seconds but I finally got the hint!

Oh, it kind of looks just like that! 🙂 Of course, if we’re inside, the cats all get anxious, and try to herd us toward the kitchen. 🙂

  9. You should get twice as much dinner for having to wait.

  10. Dinnertime is serious business… can’t be having it late, or first there’s the sad face, then the riot!

  11. Rebekah says:

I know that stare. How can you resist?

  12. He will go and wait in his crate until I notice him.

  13. I know that look all too well! MOL!

  14. Bentley climbs up on my lap and smothers me with kisses until i get up and feed him. He wanted me to tell you that dogs can starve within ten minutes if they have to wait for a meal. Your flowers are lovely!! ♥♥♥

  15. Kitties Blue says:

There is absolutely no excuse to serve us dinner late. Dinner is at 6:30 sharp…now if the humans want to feed us early, we are okay with that. That is a very sad woofie face at the door. Kitties Blue at The Cat on My Head are having a giveaway for an appliquéd kitty flag. XO, Lily OLivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
