Meow Parlour: Cat Cafe in the City

Recently I had the opportunity to visit Meow Parlour, the first cat cafe in New York City.

I’ll post a full story tomorrow, but for now, here’s a photo that I thought captured the essence of the concept: it’s a wonderful escape from the outside world.

Trucks and cranes are visible in the reflection of Meow Parlour's storefront, but one kitty knows it's more fun inside.

Since eating, drinking and even (currently) typing are so often made difficult by a cat, I usually want to get away from all of that when I go out but I am still curious about the cat cafés opening everywhere. There are a few in Cascadia now and I plan to check them out. Happy New Year to you and your crew from all of us nomads!

Well, a dog cafe maybe, but cats I don’t know.

  3. Looks like a wonderful cafe!

  4. Spectacular photo! We just saw this on the news, but I think it was in London. Cats were actually getting adopted there. Win win! Love Dolly

  5. How COOL! I think we saw another Meow Cafe in LA. How FUN! Golden Woofs

  6. I would go! I do like cats, even though mine are pretty naughty and annoying. LOL

Oh wow! I knew they had one in Japan. I had not heard they had opened one in NY. How cool! I would hang out, as long as I had taken my allergy meds ahead of time. 🙂

That’s awesome! We would love to visit Meow Parlour, since we live only about 45 minutes from NYC!

  9. Looks like a cute place. Even ‘though we share our home w/kitties, I’d still like to stop in and check it out. Always good to meet some more fur-friends!

Great photo! Not really sure about a cat cafe. But as long as the cats are well taken care of, and they enjoy being around so many people, then I guess there’s no real harm in it.

  11. I would like to hear more, that sounds great!
