Photo: Because I can’t resist, 2 more photos of adoptable pets

Wordless Wednesday

Adoptable pets from the Somerset Regional Animal Shelter:

Sweet Randall is looking to fill that cat-shaped hole in your life.

Two of the “Trueblood” pups, named after characters in the popular HBO series. Who could resist those adorable faces?

There’s been quite a bit of activity around here since we donated 12 bags of Merrick dog food to the Somerset Regional Animal Shelter. (I had won the food after recording a “Best Dog Ever” video at this years’ BlogPaws conference.)

I wrote a post about the residents of the shelter whom I met when we dropped off the food–and I was lucky enough to witness friendly Gilly find her forever family. I also featured a black-and-white photo of Baby Girl, whose soulful eyes and loving heart touched me; I promise her I’d help her find a home.

In the hopes of getting a little press coverage for the shelter, I wrote and sent out a press release and some photos to a few reporters. It was fun to put my public relations experience to work in support of homeless pets. In a matter of hours, NJ.com posted my story (changing very little) and a Courier News reporter called to interview me.

It felt really good when I won the food; it felt even better to know that it enabled me to help homeless animals in my community.

I took quite a few pictures while at the shelter and wasn’t able to use them all in my previous posts–and there were a couple that continued to speak to me, that I couldn’t leave buried in my photo archive.

So for today’s admittedly wordy Wordless Wednesday, I am featuring those photos–in the hopes that just a little more attention may help them–and the other sweet souls at the shelter–find homes.
