A Shady Dog, Or Finding Re-leaf From the Heat

Jasper finds "re-leaf" from the heat

Jasper finds re-leaf. Actually, several.

The dog days of summer have not been so happy for Lilah, Jasper and Tucker. Once it gets above 90 degrees, it becomes too hot for most active outdoor canine activities.

But Jasper, the Comfort Hound, has it made in the shade, since his favorite activity (inside or out) is relaxing. So he always knows the best spots to chill.

Which is why my cool pup knew to seek out the slates of the patio, where the hydrangea leaves help fan even the slightest touch of wind.

For Jasper, life’s a breeze.

that’s super smart to have a green shady cave :o)

Thankfully, our summer wasn’t all that hot this year! Bailie did find herself a spot in one of our bushes, though, anyway.

  3. Our dogs have favorite places to stay cool too.

This is the first year that we have AC. We’ve never needed it. I’ve been in the Pacific Northwest all my life and our summers are always mild with a week or so of weather in the upper 80s. Not anymore.

We purchased 2 indoor units to keep the house cool and the dogs love it!

  4. Jasper is one cool dog. 😉
