Never Let It Be Said That A Cone Stopped This Dog

A few weeks ago, I wrote about how Calvin was extra nice to Tucker, when the dog had to wear the Cone of Shame.

Tucker, coned

Tucker, coned

Poor Tucker. When his foot got better and it finally seemed like he could be coneless and free, he injured a toenail.

Coned once again.

But by then, Tucker was used to the it. He didn’t like it, but he started to figure out how to live life as a conehead.

He chased squirrels.

Maybe the squirrel will fall and I'll catch him with my cone.

Maybe the squirrel will fall and I’ll catch him with my cone.

He relaxed.

Even with his cone, Tucker looks comfortable, I think.

Tucker looks comfortable, I think.

Maybe too much.

I swear he's comfortable.

I swear he’s comfortable.

He went on patrol with Jasper and Lilah.

Tucker has gotten used to the cone.

Tucker has gotten used to the cone.

He found a way to play ball.

Nothing gets in the way of Tucker playing ball, not even a cone.

Nothing gets in the way of Tucker playing ball, not even a cone.

He enjoyed good sniffs.

Maybe the cone concentrates the scent.

Maybe the cone concentrates the scent.

And discovered some that were pungent enough to roll in.

You can still rock and roll, even with a cone.

You can still rock and roll, even with a cone.

And roll he did.

The Unstoppable Tucker. Never let it said that this dog was stopped by a cone. He just found a way to work around it.

I wish I had just a little of his acceptance, his perseverance, and his joy.

What qualities do your pets have that you wish you did?

Dogs are great that way. We droop around feeling sorry for them, and they’re off having a great time, figuring out ways around their cones LOL. When Daisy had to wear her cone, I was the same way, feeling bad for her, but she was her usual self; it didn’t slow her down a bit. Oh, to have the attitude of a dog! 🙂

  2. That’s impressive cone-work there…how ever did you manage to pick the ball up????

Good work, Tucker! You are a pro with that cone, dude! We hope that toenail heals up soon.
