Story (and video): A Dog and His Ball: a cautionary “tail”

A few weeks ago, I posted a story about the dogs playing in our kiddie pool.

By dogs, I mean Lilah.

The two boys don’t like getting their paws wet. With treats freely given, Jasper can be enticed into the pool. He’ll stand there, tolerating it, until the snacks stop. Tucker will get in the pool only if coaxed with treats, praise, and the encouragement of the other dogs. Even then, he’ll try to keep at least one paw out of the water; if only 75% of your paws are in the water, I guess it doesn’t count.

Two dogs--Jasper and Tucker--stand reluctantly in the kiddie pool. They don't like getting their feet wet.

Lilah has already jumped in and splashed around. Jasper stands stoic, waiting for the next treat. Tucker–with only three paws in the water–wants to know when the torture will end.

Tucker would rather be playing Ball. Actually, Tucker would rather be playing Ball than nearly any other activity, with the slight exception of chasing critters and eating dinner. But I think it’s a close tie.

Winter, spring, summer, or fall, all you want to do is play ball and I'll be there to throw it again

Knowing all that, you’ll understand why it was such a disaster for poor Tucker when I accidently threw his Ball into the kiddie pool. Of course, once I figured out what happened, I did what any citizen of the Interwebs does: I recorded it.

Here then, is Tucker and the Ball:

I’m glad he finally got it out LOL. Looks like he immediately stepped away from the pool so you wouldn’t let that happen again.
