Where my cat Calvin sleeps:
Pile of bags
I can’t imagine any of those places are comfortable. So, kind-hearted pet mom that I am, I buy cat beds for Calvin and the other cats.
Yet the beds are ignored. Until I finally give up and figure no cat will ever use one to curl up in comfy slumber.
And then they start using it.
Like the time I bought a Cat Ball. Elsa Clair, Calvin and Athena walked through it, inspected it and seemed to approve it. But nobody slept in it. I put catnip it in. Nobody slept in it. I moved it around the house. Nobody slept in it. I gave up. And now it’s Elsa Clair’s favorite bed, particularly when it’s cold.
It’s not that they don’t like plush beds. The Cat Ball is soft and squishy. So is my lap. A pile of folded clothes. And a dog bed.
So I have given up figuring out what my cats want to sleep in or on. I just make sure I have enough places–and enough of a variety–of pet beds (and human beds and couches), so that everyone–cat, dog and human–can find the perfect spot to snooze.
