Cat Video: Elsa Clair’s Mission Impossible

Elsa Clair tiny dragon cat

Elsa Clair, Tiny Dragon

In our house, we often refer to Elsa Clair as the “wee beastie” or Tiny Dragon. Of the cats, she’s the fiercest hunter ; when she captures a toy, her menacing growls could scare away even the most stout-hearted souls — if they weren’t turned into a puddle of mush by the most adorable sounds ever.

Elsa Clair is smart and determined, and ounce for ounce, has more cattitude in her teeny body than all three of the other cats combined.

When her favorite toy got tangled too high for her to reach, Elsa Clair used every trick she could to reach it. And just when she thought everything was going perfectly, the unthinkable happened.

Was Elsa Clair victorious in the end? Watch the video and find out.

Note: As much fun as Elsa Clair is having in my short cat video, I would NOT recommend this toy to anyone. A cat should never, ever, EVER be allowed to play with a toy like this unsupervised, as there is too much opportunity for a kitty to get tangled. I only let her play with it for brief periods, while I watched, and then I locked it away in a closet when we were done. About two days after this video was recorded, Elsa Clair managed to yank the birdie off the string. I took it from her and that was the end of the toy. I am not planning on replacing it.

  1. Love her persistence! We have always kept toys with strings away for special supervised play time.

It’s great to watch you!!! btw: my mom did that too on the stairs once and her grampy had to rescue her with a saw :o)

  3. Robin says:

Bravo to Elsa Clair! That was a lot of fun. She is a really smart cookie. I love all of the different tactics she used to try and get her toy.

  4. Hilarious! A cat’s agility is so fascinating to me, and that’s exactly what frightens my husband (hence why we don’t have one!) so I really enjoyed watching yours.

  5. zooperson says:

Well done, Elsa Clair! I don’t see very well cuz I only have one eye and it’s not very good, but I can jump like crazy–just like you. Merry Merry

  12. oh my goodness how entertaining! Elsa you are very athletic. LeeAnna at not afraid of color

  13. OMD, she’s so cute and smart! And I think she might be part gibbon, with the way she scaled the outside of the stairs!

  14. That is one tenacious cat! So glad you stuck it out with the video to see her go for it! We agree about unsupervised play, mom’s cat Peaches had a toy with a stretch string she’d attached to the door knob. She would pull that thing clear across the room and then let go, boing! Then it would break. Cats, geez. Love Dolly
