Haiku by Dog: Promise
TweetToday’s haiku is by Jasper.
At the first rustle of leaves, at the vaguest hint that Something might be in the bushes that would require investigation, our Tucker is up and running–nose before brain. He responds so fast, I don’t believe he has time to think about whatever he might be chasing.
Jasper, on the other paw, considers whether it is worth it to get up on those long, AT-AT legs (Star Wars reference; you can see what I’m talking about here) and investigate.
Unless he smells it first. Then he’ll know if it’s a fox. Or a bunny. Because they belong to a special category of critter: Those Who Must Be Chased.
What about your pets? Do they jump and investigate at the first sound? Or do they wait for more information?

Definitely sound before sight! BOL!!
Tudee the Chihuahua mix hears everything in our zip code. She alerts the other dogs who don’t want to admit that they didn’t hear anything. Then they are off…
This is so interesting. We would have thought that all dogs would act just like Tucker. We do think Jasper has the right idea. No need to expend unnecessary energy. XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
The noise usually gets our attention. But we wait to see what it is before actually investigating.
Noises definitely get our attention! If it’s a bug, we are on it!!!
