Haiku by Cat: Conjurer
TweetToday’ haiku is by Calvin.
Sometimes you can tell by the look in their eyes. A certain glint. A flash of inspiration. Or maybe it’s the way they hold themselves, tightly wound like they’re about to spring.
Sometimes they see right through you, and you see right into their heads where the gears are spinning and the plots are hatching.
Sometimes you can guess what they’re thinking: calculating angle and momentum of the jump required to get to the top of the fridge, or debating the relative risks of snagging the hamburger left thawing on the counter.
Sometimes, you know they’re up to something: a something that you know–and they know–is more than likely going to cause mayhem.
In today’s Haiku by Cat, Calvin is considering his next mischievous move from within the cat tunnel.
How can you tell when your pets are planning trouble?

Susan the link isn’t working from the blog hop!
Thanks so much, Dolly. I’ll check it out.
so cute! Rita doesn’t really get up to much mischief, but with our angel Abby, oh boy would she get a wild look in her eyes. And then you knew you were in trouble!
Exactly! That wild look! You know it spells mischief.
Love it! Actually, there’s not a whole lot of mischief around here. (And am also a big fan of Off the Leash)
Ooh. I hope you entered the giveaway!
Their facial expressions are pretty easy to read.
Particularly the ones where they’re about to pounce something. Like my ankles.
If I don’t see him, I’m suspicious!
That’s always a good clue. Or if it’s too quiet.
Hailey has some clear signals that trouble is coming!
You can tell, right? Once you know your pet, you know when trouble is a brewin’.
What a great photo! We usually give it away with the dilating eyes right before trouble launches.
Oh, I know that look all too well.
I love your haiku. I wish I was clever.
Aw, thank you!
I really enjoy looking at cats faces. So expressive.
Once I began to understand “Cat” vs “Dog,” I learned a lot more about how they view the world.
Calvin is adorable…and yes cats always have mischief in their heads 😉
What did you get up to Calvin?
Somehow my Mum always seems to know when I’m about to do mischief, doh! 🙂
I hope you’re having a fun day,
Your pal Snoopy 🙂
