Haiku by Cat: Ownership
TweetToday’s haiku is by Calvin.
Whether I’m gone for one minute or twelve, it never ceases to amaze me how quickly a cat can apparate and take over my desk chair.
It’s not just that the chair is occupied. It’s occupied by sleepy, comfy cuteness.
The kind that is unthinkable to disturb.
And lest I ponder the concept that perhaps the chair really is mine, and I’d like to sit in it to continue working, the occupier knows how to turn the cuteness up to eleven. Usually with an extended adorable stretchy paw, or a double stretch, roll-over-on-the back combination, or the unbeatable triple play: yawn, stretch and sleepy purr.
Works every time.
Do your pets take over your chairs? Do you chase them off, or work around them?

As always, you speak the truth.
I swear every time that I am going to move them, but I don’t. Glad to hear that I am not alone in being a wuss.
Yup. We all do it. They have some kind of power over us. The power of cute. 😉
Cute wins over a human any day!
We are helpless before the power of adorable. 😉
Cuteness of any sort definitely wins the day. I can’t tell you how many times I couldn’t use a blanket or chair because Daisy was being all cute in it. 🙂
They sure know how to work “cute” to their advantage. 😀
