Haiku by Cat: Guard
TweetToday’s haiku is by Dawn.
Approach the guardian of the ascent with a pure heart, for She can see into your soul.
Do not come armed, but instead bring gifts and offerings to demonstrate your generosity and kindness, for She will judge your worthiness.
Walk gently, treading lightly upon the hallowed ground, for She is armed with tooth and claw, honed on those with whom She’s displeased.
And it can’t hurt to bring a mousie toy for an easy distraction.
Are your pets ever in the way when you need to get from one place to the other in your home?

What a great pic and a perfect haiku to go with it! 😀
Thank you!
Always! Lily went out of her way to trip me a couple of days ago. She’s just lucky I didn’t land on her when I fell. Hugs, Janet
I know, right? Cats (and dogs) have a way of getting underfoot!
i would abandoned that stairway. I think my heart is pure, but why take the risk?
Exactly. At this moment, I would suddenly remember something that needed to be done right now…downstairs.
My cats never guarded the stairs, hmmm. Yours look well guarded.
Oh they are. One must be cautious. 😉
Oh yes. Always, always bring a mousie!
Oooh, look! A distraction!
An all too familiar scene! Sassy is our passageway guard cat! 🙂
By the way — the cat shelves on our blog post today were ordered from Catastrophic Creations. They had a display at BlogPaws. They are the company that make that Indiana Jones Bridge. We’ve had the shelves up for about 2 weeks now, and they have been a huge hit! Will be writing more about them on Friday’s blog post.
Ah, yes. I love their work. I was just about to order a whole slew of stuff from them, but a change in my job status meant I had to postpone. I want that Indiana Jones bridge so bad. I have the perfect place for it, too!

Exactly. Dawn rules. The stairs — and other areas in the house.
My cats have tried that. We just step on them. Dogs have to show the cats who is boss!
We hope somebuddy doesn’t trip over Dawn. 😉
This has been known to happen at my house, too. purrs
