Haiku by Cat: Change
Tweet
Today’s haiku is by Dawn.
Cats. Dogs. Belly rubs. Discuss.
For most dogs, a belly rub is an awesome thing. Jasper and Tucker will roll over at a moment’s notice to let the scritching and rubbing begin. Lilah is less frequent with her requests, but she still loves it.
All three pups will offer up a look of complete surprise when the petting stops. The head lifts up. A paw taps my arm, lightly at first, and then more insistent. Until I rub that belly again. And again.
For cats, on the other paw, it’s a whole ‘nother story. ‘Tis the rare kitty that likes belly rubs. And the opportunities for said rubbing are scarce and fleeting. Possibly a little risky, as a hand on a cat belly is surrounded by no less than five sets of sharp and pointy bits. (Claws and teeth!) As Dawn notes in today’s Haiku by Cat, first she wants to be petted on that soft white belly. Then she doesn’t. And then she does again. Because. Cats.
How about your pets? Belly rubs: yay or nay?

Lee will grab your hand and pull it to her belly for a rub. Phod enjoys a belly rub, but prefers a chest rub. Neither cat really loved it.
therefore we love cats :o) I’m not really a fan of belly rubs, no idea why lol
The first time I gave my cat a belly rub I thought I was going to lose my hand. Through the years she has learned to enjoy them on her terms. Love the Haiku.

Haha so true! Shiner of course loves getting her belly scratched. My last cat, Honey Delite, actually liked it too. She rolled over on her back quite often. Kitty Kitty Meow Meow on the other hand… that could be a little dangerous!
Hahaha! Perfect!
BOL! Lots of sharp and pointy bits!!! BOL!
Wells, I sometimes like some belly rubs, like when I just wake up from a nap, butts usually I just don’t trust that Ma doesn’t have some other nefarious intention (ie: ear washin’, pill dosin’, pad trimin’, ya know, the un-fun things…) so I start a wrastlin’ match instead…can’t let her get a hold of my collar! ☺
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
Jack is a huge belly rub fan and like Jasper & Tucker will drop at the slightest indication that there is an opportunity. Maggie, completely different…she will allow it, but rarely seeks it.
I wanna rub that belly! All the Pawesome Cats family love belly rubs and chin scratches – they queue up for that kind of attention!
