Haiku by Cat: Almost
TweetToday’s haiku is by Calvin.
Cat scratchers are strategically placed in several locations around my home. Experts recommend positioning them near couch corners and other areas where you’d really rather a cat not exercise her claws.
It works. Sort of. Some of the time.
And thus my furniture has that A Cat Lives Here look. Slightly shredded in some places. Extraneous threads sticking up like weeds in others. Nothing an artistically placed throw won’t cover.
How does your home tell visitors that non-human family members live here?

Our visitors can hear Easy from far away :o) but the toy piles everywhere are an evidence too that a dog lives there… or a kid like Chuckie :o)

Delilah is the only one who purposefully uses a couch corner as a scratching post. But then there’s Sophie who climbs everything and leaves her (claw) mark everywhere! MOL! A small price to pay…
Nice Haiku 🙂 I like your ice cream truck box too. Be sure to enter our giveaway for catnip toys.
Awww! Calvin is too cute with his scratcher. He tells the truth though, there is no scratcher as beloved as the humans’ favorite piece of furniture. Somehow, the couch always gets it.
Our visitors are told “don’t let the cat out” almost before being told “hello” by Mum ! And there are cat toys spread everywhere… Purrs
I have my paws crossed as I say this, but we have several cat posts strategically placed around the house, Mom has had a total of six cats with claws, now we currently have two, and not one time has anyone ruined furniture. They love their scratching posts.
OH, I really like today’s haiku!
I haven’t bought a bigger cat tree yet, and I’m not too sure I will. I’ll wait and see what my girls want. (I can pick them up tomorrow from the shelter!).
The staff at the shelter warned me that bigger cat trees can be dangerous, because they might not be stable enough? Hm.
We have lots of scratchers all over the house. Trees, cardboard ones, you name it. But Ernie still does a number on the carpet much to the mom’s dismay.
That word “ALMOST” really comes in handy doesn’t it??? Tee Hee
Hugs, Sammy
LOL. That’s pretty funny, but true. 🙂
Some of our furniture definitely has a certain “shabby from tabby” look.
