Story: Field of Flowers Award

Field of Flowers Award

It’s my first blog award. I’ve seen other blogs with list of awards and recognition from other bloggers and I have to admit I thought, well, anyone can give anyone an award. What’s the big  deal?

And then Kitty Cat Chronicles gave me the Field of Flowers Award and that’s when I realized how awesome it is to be recognized by a fellow blogger: someone who tills the same soil as you do, and who appreciates the hard work to tend and grow a website or blog.  So thank you Emily from Kitty Cat Chronicles for making me stop and smell the flowers.

The rules of the award are:

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you
  2. Display the award on your blog
  3. Nominate 7 other blogs and let everyone know why you are presenting them with a “field of flowers”
  4. Tell the 7 nominees of their nomination

Nobody told me how hard it would be! I have met so many great bloggers I wound up with a huge list. I  found it such a challenge to narrow it down to just seven. So even if you’re not on my final list, if you’re reading this, you were probably on my first pass.

Here goes, in no particular order, my nominees for the Field of Flowers Award. Please visit them out and share the joy:

The Hailey and Zaphod Chronicles : I love the great stories and photography on this site, plus I admit I’m a little partial to blogs about dogs and cats.

My Pawsitive PetsWritten by a former veterinary technician, this blog has a little bit for everyone: dogs, cats, chinchillas. Great, pawsitive advice.

Tenacious Little Terrier:  I love this little guy’s spirit and energy, and I really enjoy the honest and true commentary of the blog.

Animal Shelter Volunteer Life: I wish I could take every featured kitty home. The pictures are great, and they all come with stories to tell.

Underneath the Shell: The adventures of Kame, Kroten, Papoe and Kurome. Until I read this blog, I had no idea turtles could be so adorable and full of personality.

Cascadian Nomads: Three dogs, all gorgeous, all so well behaved. And don’t forget the birds. I love multi-species households!

Barking from the Bayou: Great stories from Louisiana, courtesy of the sweetest Basset Hound you ever met.

My Brown Newfies and Me: Beautiful pictures, great writing and two big brown dogs. What’s not to love?

  1. Oh Susan, thank you so very, very much! I have seen this beautiful award on other blogs and always found it to be one of the prettiest badges! I am honored that you included me among those other great blogs! It is always hard to narrow a list when there are so many amazing pet bloggers. Bentley and I are truly touched. Thanks you again! <3

Thank you so much, Susan! I know exactly what you mean about awards. I was so thrilled when I received my first award! And after almost a year of blogging, and receiving a few awards, it still feels so wonderful to be recognized and appreciated. I have not seen this award before but I agree with M.K- it is gorgeous! Thank you so much for including us on your list. And I while I am commenting, I hadn’t yet congratulated you on being a Nose-to-Nose finalist! You’re just raking in the honors right now; much deserved. 🙂

    • You’re very welcome. I didn’t realize how awesome it would feel until it happened, and then: Wow! It was fun to spread the joy, too, by nominating others. Though I must admit, it was really hard to choose just seven.

And thanks for the congratulations regarding my being a Nose-to-Nose finalist. It means a lot to me that everyone in the pet blogging community is so kind and supportive. 😀

    • Aw, thanks! I am in awe of the support and camaraderie of the pet blogging community!

    • Thank you! While it’s hard to choose just seven deserving bloggers, it was great to spread the joy. And I love the work you do, and find myself wishing I could adopt so many of the sweet kitties you feature.

And thanks for the support about my being a finalist for a Nose-to-Nose award. I am so very honored, and continue to be amazed and warmed by the support of the pet blogging community.
