Each of my cats has their special spots and signature petting requirements.
Elsa Clair loves to be scratched on her head, and around her ears.
Calvin prefers chin scritches is loves to rub his face on a finger or a knuckle.
Athena wants my husband Brian to pet her head; I’m allowed to do the same, but it’s always better if Brian is in the room.
And Dawn loves to be smooshed, where she lies flat and is stroked from head to butt.
The dogs have their own preferences as well. Lilah wants ear scrunchies and double chin rubs.
Jasper does a happy butt dance if you pet his back half.
And Tucker? He loves every touch. You could do anything to Tucker—poke him, stroke him, rub him, scratch him—and when you stop, he’ll just paw you and ask for more.
