A terrier, Tucker needs to be busy. All the time. If he’s not running after a ball, scaring squirrels, barking at deer, rolling in dead worms, or chasing chipmunks, he’s chewing on something. In today’s Text from Dog, it’s bark from our mulch.
I wouldn’t mind so much, except Tucker will not just chew, he’ll swallow all the little bits and pieces he gnaws off. So if I don’t catch him and take away the chewed-upon item (and re-direct him with a more appropriate activity like playing ball), then invariably, I’ll be awakened early the next day to that uniquely recognizable and terrifically horrible sound of a dog barfing.
