Text from Cat: Do not mock the panther

Text from Cat: The panther's roar is fierce. Me: More like a kitten's mew. Cat: Do not mock the panther. I know which ones are the good drapes.

Calvin is the lone mancat in our home clowder. (For those who are unfamiliar with the term, a “clowder” is the official word for a group of cats, like a herd of deer, a murder of crows, and a gaggle of teenagers… oh, wait, that’s geese.)

And as the mancat of the house, one might expect him to have a manly meow. Instead, it is the tiniest of the bunch who has the loudest roar, while Calvin’s minute mews sound like they come from an ‘ittle bitty kitty.

So when he talks, the humans in the house are glad he doesn’t understand that we laugh about it. Or does he?

What are some of the things your pets do that make you laugh?

  1. Don’t let that meek meow fool you…underneath all that is the heart of a lion! Be fierce, Calvin!

MOL! This is too funny! My cats would send me text messages like this too, if they could. Calvin is such a cutie in his photo! I can definitely see the cattitude. My cats are always making me laugh. Dexter has a new catnip pizza toy that he loves carrying around in his mouth! It couldn’t possibly get any cuter.

  3. Your texts are some of my favorite posts! Thanks for the smiles.

  4. Lexy carries around one of her toy fish and meows and meows and meows. It always makes Mommy giggle.

  5. MOL ! We know that cute meow is a trick to fool the enemy ! Purrs

LOL You’re getting quite the challenging glare there! Calvin certainly knows how to get his message across, whether by text or by eye contact! 😉

  7. Kitties Blue says:

MacKenzie, who was a huge orange tabby, had a meow that sounded like a sheep baaing. Cracked us up every time. When Lily gets mad, she actually barks. We think Calvin is threatening to use his “talons” in the wrong place. We find the humans’ faces and arms are the best place to show our displeasure.
