Haiku By Dog
a dog’s thoughts on ants
as they run past in a line:
don’t come near my paws
anticipation
intense excitement before
they open the door
Much can be learned from
searching and seeking – except when
it’s your ball that is lost
go ahead and laugh
throw curses and nuts at me
one day, squirrel, one day
it’s too hot to run
I’m feeling benevolent
squirrel’s lucky day
from beneath the leaves
scurrying sound of small paws
and chipmunks laughin
unreachable squirrel
frustration made bearable
when shared with a frien
fine-tuned nostrils catch
whiffs of a chase not taken
a squirrel was here
I know she is there
right behind me just waiting
to take my chicken
we may be different
but when it comes to squirrels
we’re on the same tea
Stop, sniff and follow
Put your nose to the ground and follow us on...
